Preparing for Baby: Taking CPR Classes in NJ

All my life, I cared for children. I started babysitting at the tender age of 11. As a senior in high school, I started working with autistic youth. In college, I became a nanny and worked with the same family throughout the duration of my education. When I graduated, I started my career as a school counselor in an elementary school. I considered myself somewhat of an expert in working with children, but when I became pregnant with a baby of my own, I realized that there was one area where I had not received the necessary training. I decided to take CPR classes in NJ as a result.

As a nervous first time mother, I wanted to be prepared for any eventuality. Therefore, I quickly realized how important it was to take CPR Classes in NJ.

My husband was not as interested in taking the class as I was; since I was going to be the primary caretaker of our baby, I did not let his lack of enthusiasm affect me. I am so glad that I did not! The class was informative and valuable, and I walked away feeling like I could handle just about any situation that came my way.

Luckily, I have not had to use the skills that I learned in my CPR class. However, my knowledge comforts me; I now have a second child as well, and I am getting ready to take a refresher course to make sure that my skills are sharp.

I am still the primary caretaker for both of my little ones, and it is extremely important to me that I am prepared for any eventuality. Having CPR certification is not only great for my current role, but it is also an excellent skill to add to my resume for when I return to the workforce.
